A fire broke out in Ban Krua community on Rama 1 road of Bangkok’s Pathumwan district early Wednesday morning and burned down 20 houses before it was brought under control, police said.
Pol Lt-Col Charoensit Jong-itthipol, an investigator at Pathumwan police station, said the fire began about 2am at house No 24 before spreading to nearby houses.
After 50 minutes, the firefighters had managed to bring the blaze under control. A total of 20 houses were burned down and the damage cost is estimated at 15 million baht, he said.
