NEPALGUNJ: Kamala Oli of Bageshwori-7 died on Wednesday following a fire at her home that sparked after the cooking gas leaked. Tilak, Kamala’s husband, has been critically injured in the incident. DSP Uday Tamang said that Kamala was critically injured when she caught fire in her kitchen while cooking food on Tuesday night. She was immediately taken to the Bheri Zonal Hospital but died today morning while undergoing treatment. Tilak has been sent to Kathmandu for further treatment.
Suicide rate high
PHIDIM: Over 25 people lost their lives during one year in different accidents and incidents in Panchather district. District Police Office made public report that people lost their lives in different accidents like vehicles accident, murder and natural disaster in fiscal year 2068/069.The death rate due to suicide and road accident is high in Panchthar. District Police Office said that 11 committed suicide, three died after falling off cliff and 11 lost their lives in different road accidents.
60.5 kg red sandalwood seized
SINDHUPALCHOWK: Acting on a tip-off, a joint patrol team of Nepal Police and Armed Police Force on Tuesday night impounded 60.5 kg sandalwood from a commuter bus at Tatopani’s Daskilo while sandalwood was being ferried to Khasa. Bus driver Ram Kumar Shrestha is on the run, Inspector Biswo Karki said. Seized sandalwood is kept at the District Police Office, Sindhupalchowk.
