Fire guts two-storey house in Kg Menglait

A BLAZE broke out at a two-storey house yesterday afternoon in a residential area in Kg Menglait.
The roof partially collapsed causing substantial damage to the interior of the house and blackened the walls and ceiling.
According to the wife of the house owner, all members of her family including her husband and baby were safe. The cause of the fire is believed to be electrical failure but is yet to be confirmed by the relevant authorities.
A spokesperson from the Fire and Rescue Department said that more than 20 personnel from the Berakas and Bandar Seri Begawan Fire Stations were deployed at the scene after responding to a distress call at around 3.44pm.
The spokesperson added that five fire engines were dispatched including three from the Berakas Fire Station and one each from the Women Operation Unit and the BSB Fire Station.
