HA NOI (VNS) — A fire broke out yesterday afternoon, causing chaos at a busy bed mattress factory in suburban Ha Noi’s Thuong Tin Town.
Dozens of workers and youngsters were forced to flee the area, carrying nearby gas tanks and other flammable materials to prevent a full-scale explosion.
Six firetrucks attended the scene and contained the fire after 20 minutes, by which point more than 300 square metres of the factory had been destroyed.
According to local media, the company has around 100 workers and uses recycled materials to produce mattress. An investigation has been launched into the cause of the fire. — VNS
