Fire guts property worth Rs 4.5 mln

BIRATNAGAR: Property worth Rs. 2.5 million was gutted at Duhabi-7 of Sunsari district this morning.
According to the Area Police Office, Duhabi, the fire erupted from a house of one Suresh Bhagat at 6 am. The fire reportedly destroyed the entire house and a shop in it.
Police Inspector Suraj Khadka said fire engines from Dharan, Itahari and Inaruwa, police personnel and locals brought the fire under control after around one-and-a-half hour.
In a different incident in Udaypur, as many as 14 cowsheds were destroyed by fire at Ramutar of Bhuttar VDC in the district on Sunday night. Locals brought the fire under control after three hours.
Meanwhile in Khotang, property worth Rs. 2 million was gutted by fire at Lafyang-9 on Sunday evening.
The property was gutted after a two-storey house of one Kul Bahadur Katwal caught the fire sparked from candle lit during Deepawali illumination.
Police Inspector at the District Police Office, Khotang, Durga Regmi, said that the fire that started from 7 pm was brought under control after three hours at the initiatives of locals and police personnel.
