TAIPEI, Taiwan — An apartment building on the first section of Neihu Road caught fire last night, leaving five dead, one of them a six-month-old baby.
The intense fire initially broke out in a second-story home on Neihu Road Section One at about 8 p.m. in Neihu, and fire crews spent nearly one hour trying to put it out, local media cited the Taipei City Fire Department as saying.
According to the report, five victims, one of them a six-month-old, were found on the second floor, which was believed to be the ignition point. An investigation into the cause of the fire and the identities of the victims is underway, local authority said.
