Elderly Couple Killed In Fire In Felda Pasoh

JELEBU, Aug 3 (Bernama) — An elderly couple were killed in a fire that broke out at their home in Felda Pasoh 1 in Simpang Pertang here early Friday.
The charred bodies of Zahari Hasan, 77, and his wife, Mariam Abdul Latif, 67, were found in the living room of the house.
State Fire and Rescue Department acting assistant operation director Ahmad Nizam Sapaiee said two fire engines with 18 firemen from Simpang Pertang and Jempol were rushed to the scene upon receiving the distress call at 4.39am.
“The team managed to put out the fire completely at 5.30am. That’s when we found the charred bodies of the victims,” he told Bernama.
He said the bodies were taken to Tuanku Jaafar Hospital in Seremban for post-mortem, while the actual cause of fire and losses were being investigated.
