Bus catches fire after hitting, killing motorcycle rider in Quezon

A passenger bus caught fire after hitting and killing a motorcycle rider in a predawn road accident in Quezon province before dawn Sunday.
The accident occurred at the road along Tagkawayan town in Quezon province, radio dzBB’s Peewee Bacuño reported.
Police have taken the driver of the bus into custody. The driver may face charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.
Initial investigation showed the bus was heading for Bicol from Metro Manila when it hit the motorcycle, and dragged it for about 100 meters.
But the bus caught fire after the motorcycle exploded. The report said the accident occurred shortly after 2 a.m.
There was no initial report of the bus’ passengers being injured.
Firefighters rushed to the site to put out the fire. — LBG, GMA News
