CCTV cameras burned in Pattani
Updated: 2012-09-11-11:59
Seven surveillance cameras were removed from power poles and set on fire in Yarang district of Pattani province early Tuesday morning.
Pol Col Tuandir Juthanant, the Yarang police chief, said the incidents took place about 2am at two spots – in front of Santi Witthaya School at Ban Buenae Kuebong and at Ban Ton Thurian of tambon Yarang – on Highway 410 (Pattani-Yala).
Police learned from witnesses that about six men arrived on motorcycles, climbed up the power poles and removed altogether seven security cameras.
They covered the cameras with bicycle tyres soaked in petrol and set fire to them before fleeing.
