Fire in Vatva GIDC unit

AHMEDABAD: A unit in Vatva GIDC reported a major fire on Saturday morning. A team of the Ahmedabad Fire and Emergency Services (AEFS) doused the flames after a two-hour long operation.
According to AFES officials, they got a call from Nanda Chemicals at 11 am after a tanker containing a solvent caught fire. “We found the tanker along with a truck burning due to high content of solvent,” said an AFES official.
“As it was chemical fire, the prime objective was to contain it in a limited area and douse the flames,” he said.
