Electrical Equipment Factory Razed In Fire, Reports RM4 Million Loss

PETALING JAYA, Dec 8 (Bernama) — A factory manufacturing electrical equipment in the industrial area of Bandar Sunway near here suffered a loss of about RM4 million in a fire early Sunday.
Petaling Operations Zone Assistant Superintendent of Fire and Rescue Services Mohammmad Zaikunor Afendi Muhammad Nordin said the report on the fire at the factory, Fortune Electrical Corp (M) Sdn Bhd, in Dataran Complex 3C of the Subang Jaya municipality, came at 7.30 am.
“The Subang Jaya Fire and Rescue Station received a call at 7.57 am and immediately sent 20 officers and personnel in three fire trucks from the Subang Jaya, Damansara and Section 7 Petaling Jaya fire and rescue stations,” he told Bernama.
Fire-fighters took two hours to put out the blaze, and managed to prevent the fire from spreading to three other factories nearby.
Zaikunor Afendi said an investigation was being conducted to identify the cause of the fire.
