According to Dano Tingcungco’s report on “24 Oras Weekend,” aside from his children, clothing, and some items he sold for a living, Rene Rojo was unable to save anything else from the fire.

“Ang inuna ko talaga, ‘di bale na mawala ‘yung mga gamit, ang mahalaga ‘yung mga anak ko,” he said.

(What I did first— even if we lost our belongings, what was important was that I saved my children.)

The initial estimate showed that around 100 families were affected by the fire.

Meanwhile, authorities estimated the property damage from the fire at P100,000.

A 58-year-old suffered from a first-degree burn on his left shoulder.

No fatalities were recorded.

Authorities are looking into the cause of the fire.

“Nagsimula po doon sa second floor sa bodega na pinaglalagyan po ng mga spare parts ng motor. Nahirapan po tayo kasi alam niyo naman po ngayon, tag-init, naubusan tayo ng ano, mga tubig ng hydrant. Kaya malalayo, kaya natagalan ‘yung operation natin,” Joseph Del Mindo, QC Fire chief, said.

(It started on the second floor of the warehouse where motorcycle spare parts were stored. We had a hard time because the hydrants ran out of water due to the heat. So our operation took a long time.)
