THANE: A fire broke out in two shops near Prabhat Talkies in Thane on Tuesday morning.
There were no reports of any injury or casualty. “We received the call at around 8:52 am and the firefighters rushed to the spot to douse the flames,” a Jawahar Baug Fire Station official informed.
The official stated that there was no report of injury but two electronics and electrical repairs selling shops at Jai Jawan Market on old Thane Station road were gutted in the fire accident.
At least one fire engine and two water tankers reached the spot and brought the situation under control.
The cause of the fire is suspected to be an electrical short-circuit but but an investigation was underway to ascertain the exact cause.
