HYDERABAD: Eleven members of a family including four children were rescued safely after a fire broke out in a ground plus three storey building in which they live at Hari Vihar colony in Narayanguda on Thursday night.
The incident came to light after the neighbours noticed smoke and fire coming out of the second floor of the house around 9 pm and alerted the family. According to the fire department officials, all the four children were on the second floor when the fire broke out.
“The second and third floor of the houses have been completely damaged due to the fire. While the second floor consists of bedrooms, the third floor consists of one bedroom and a play area. Fortunately, the family was able to rush to the second floor immediately after the neighbours alerted them and rescued the children,” said
Musheerabad station fire officer G Venkateshwar, adding that no injuries or casualties were reported.
Two fire tenders were rushed to the spot along with water tankers, from Musheerabad fire station and Gowliguda fire station, to douse the flames immediately after they received a call at 9.13 pm.
It took the fire department personnel about one and a half hours to douse the flames. Further, the officials informed that the cause of the fire is suspected to be short-circuit. Investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the fire and property damage.
