Fire breaks out in Erode mill

The fire broke out around 3am on Saturday
ERODE: A fire broke out in a yarn sizing mill in Tamil Nadu’s Erode in the early hours of Saturday.
Personnel from the Erode town fire station put out the blaze after three hours of struggle. No one was injured in the accident. The loss was yet to be ascertained, said an officer at the Karungalpalayam police station.
“The fire broke out in a godown around 3am,” the officer said. It spread to nearby buildings after clothes and yarn materials caught fire.
A short circuit could have been the reason for the fire, he added. The police registered the case., 44, of BP Agraharam area in the city. More than 200 workers are working in the mill.
