Bus on fire in Mirpur

A fire has broken out in a bus in Dhaka’s Mirpur.
However, no casualties were reported.
A bus of the ‘Pallabi Super Paribahan’ caught fire in front of Sony Cinema of Mirpur-2 around 9.30am on Thursday after its engine overheated, said Mirpur Police Station OC Md Salahuddin.
The passengers managed to get off the bus before any harm was caused.
Two fire engines put out the flame.
A passenger seated on the front row of the bus said the engine had begun spewing smoke before bursting into flames.
The passenger alleged the driver had been told about the overheating engine, but he paid no heed.
Fire Service Control Room official Md Ali said the overheating engine could indeed be behind the fire.
