Car bursts into flames at Jerudong Highway

MOTORISTS travelling between Jerudong and Sengkurong were caught up in a traffic jam on Sunday night after a car burst into flames, requiring the Fire and Rescue Department to put out the fire.
The incident was believed to have occurred when the driver lost control of his car during the heavy rain and hit a lamppost.
Personnel from the Royal Brunei Police Force were also deployed to aid in controlling the traffic.
Motorists from Sengkurong who were heading towards Jerudong had to use an alternative route, as the lamppost fell across the road, blocking both lanes.
The driver escaped with no injuries.
The cause of the incident is still under investigation.
