Narrow escape for Ludhiana man as fire engulfs his car

The incident took place when Arvind Plaha, resident of Chander Nagar, was returning after teaching yoga to his students.
LUDHIANA: A man had a narrow escape after the car in which he was travelling caught fire at South City road on Wednesday morning.
The incident took place when Arvind Plaha, resident of Chander Nagar, was returning after teaching yoga to his students.
He noticed smoke coming out of the AC vents and escaped on time.
Anil Khanna, one of the friends of Arvind shared, “It was usual time at around 7.45am when Arvind was returning back and he noticed smoke coming out of the AC vent so he immediately stopped the car. In a hurry to come out first he could not open the door of the car and found it jammed but by continuous efforts he somehow managed to open and came out.”
“As soon as he came out, the car caught fire and Arvind informed him to reach the spot.” Khanna said he had tried the fire emergency number but due to network issues he was unable to contact them.
“A motorcycle rider was passing from there and he assured us to tell the fire brigade at Hambran Road about it,” said Khanna.
He said the car was completely damaged and Arvind received minor burn injuries at his hand.
However the fireman Simranjit Singh from Hambran Road fire station said, “A bike rider came in an exhausted condition to us and informed us that some fire took place. He was so furious that at first we could not understand what he was trying to say. We first offered him water and then he told us that a car was on fire. We rushed towards the spot but by the time we reached there, the car was almost burnt.”
