Fire breaks out at a cinema theatre in Hyderabad; Nani expresses shock over devastating incident

A fire broke out at Shiva Parvathi theatre, one of Hyderabad’s oldest and most popular movie theatres, on Sunday night. The theatre’s security guard reportedly said he suddenly saw smoke flooding the cinema hall in the wee hours of January 3. He immediately called the fire department, and three fire engines have reached the spot, and no one has been reported hurt yet, authorities said. It took three hours for the fire department to suppress the fire.
Natural star Nani, who is basking in the success of his recent release Shyam Singha Roy, took to Twitter to express hi shock about the incident. He wrote, ”Sad to hear about the fire accident at Shiva Parvathi theatre. I remember watching ‘Takkari Donga’ there on the first day in mad euphoria. Glad to know that no one is hurt.”
Due to the massive fire, the area around the theatre was occupied with black smoke which frightened the residents in the vicinity. The fire reportedly destroyed a large part of the shopping mall. The roof of the theatre has collapsed as a result of the fire. The theatre screen, chairs and other equipment were burnt to the ground. The reason for the fire could not be ascertained yet. Sources said it is suspected that the fire was caused by a short circuit. However, the probe is still underway. The police reportedly said that the incident would be investigated from all angles.
Notably, Shiva Parvathi theatre is situated close to a Kukatpally Housing Board residential society in Hyderabad. The theatre has a seating capacity of around 250 people.
