THANE: Three furniture godowns were completely gutted in a major fire that broke out in the Thane district on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday.
The blaze erupted around 1.40am in the godown located at Chamunda complex on old Bhiwandi road, near Kasheli creek. Later, it spread to two adjoining furniture godowns.
It took around 8 hours for the fire brigade officials to douse the blaze.
At 9.30am, the fire was brought under control while the cooling operation is still going on, said official.
No person was injured in the incident.
