HYDERABAD: A fire broke out at Sri Sri Holistic Hospital in Nizampet on Monday night. Police and fire department personnel worked in tandem for over two hours and shifted all the patients out of the hospital.
No casualties were reported in the blaze.
At around 11pm, the fire started from the cellar of the five-storied hospital. After alerting the fire department, the hospital staff started evacuated the patients.
Six fire tenders were rushed to the spot along with three smoke extractors and the fire was extinguished by 2.30am.
K Shilpavalli who was at the spot on Monday night said that there were 38 patients at the hospital and all of them have been shifted out without any harm.
Prima facie it appears like electric short circuit is the reason. Fire seems to have started in the cellar near the inverter and thick smoke engulfed the floor. We responded immediately to the dial 100 call and rushed to the spot. The 38 patients including the eight patients in ICU were shifted to two hospitals nearby, the DCP said.
