The gutted electric bus
HYDERABAD: An electric bus belonging to TSRTC was gutted after it caught fire while being charged at its station at Secunderabad Cantonment Depot on Tuesday.
After completing its trip, the ‘Metro Luxury’ bus was parked for charging for one hour when it caught fire. RTC staff switched off the power supply and alerted fire and police departments. The blaze was doused by two fire tenders.
“This is the first time that such an incident has happened. We are trying to ascertain the cause. It could be a short-circuit,” a TSRTC official said. A case was registered.
