Lucknow: A fire broke out at a shop in Aminabad on Monday afternoon, creating panic in the crowded market and neighbourhood. The shop where the fire broke out is in a congested market. Ten fire tenders doused the flames in almost two hours.
A shop of paints in Aminabad was gutted after fire broke out in its godown after a short circuit. The heavy traffic and narrow lanes of Aminabad became a hurdle for fire tenders in reaching the spot. It took two hours to douse the fire but by then, the shop of Manoj Maheshwari was gutted.
Fire officials said there was no fire safety equipment in the shop that also did not have a no-objection certificate (NOC) from fire department.
Chief fire officer Vijay Kumar Singh said that an inquiry will be set up to ascertain the reason behind the fire as well as the absence of NOC.
