Ahmedabad: Fire breaks out in Memnagar hospital

According to the AFES officer, the fire took place at around 6pm on Tuesday after which the hospital staff informed the emergency services.
AHMEDABAD: A fire broke out at a private hospital in the Memnagar area of the city on Wednesday after a short circuit took place in an air-conditioner of the emergency ward, said an officer of Ahmedabad fire and emergency services (AFES).
No casualty was reported in the incident.
According to the AFES officer, the fire took place at around 6pm on Tuesday after which the hospital staff informed the emergency services.
Before the AFES team comprising 10 personnel reached there, the staff of the Samvedna hospital for mental illness rescued 18 patients who were made to sit in the open ground.
A hospital staff first witnessed the smoke coming out of the emergency room, she immediately informed the floor manager. Soon after that fire alarm began blinking after which the hospital staff took 15 OPD patients and three admitted patients out of the hospital stairs.
The police personnel also reached the hospital to control the crowd.
