Ten Wooden Houses Razed In Fire In Ipoh

IPOH, Jan 17 (Bernama) — Ten wooden houses near the Panglima Kinta Mosque here were destroyed in a fire, Friday morning.
Perak Fire and Rescue Department’s operations and station management division chief, Emil Taihin said they received the distress call at 8.55 am.
“Four of the houses were unoccupied, while the tenants of the other units were away at work,” he said, when contacted.
He said the fire spread quickly and destroyed all the wooden houses in a matter of minutes.
However, no loss of life occured, he said.
Emil said the cause of fire was still being investigated but did not rule out the activities of drug addicts who used the unoccupied units as their haunt.
