Fire breaks out at ONGC plant in Navi Mumbai, 2 employees injured

Several fire fighting units were pressed into action immediately.
NAVI MUMBAI: A major fire broke out at the ONGC plant in Uran in Raigad district of Maharashtra on Thursday evening.
Local sources said two plant employees were injured in the blaze.
Sources said that a thick black smoke could be seen from Pirwadi beach in Uran at around 5.40pm. Several fire fighting units were pressed into service to douse the fire.
“The fire has been extinguished due to prompt action by ONGC and CISF security unit at Uran,” an ONGC spokeperson said.
Two persons who suffered burns have been sent for treatment to Mumbai.
