Fire engulfs six saw mills in Nagpur’s Lakadganj
Updated: 2022-04-07
NAGPUR: A major fire broke out in a saw mill in Lakadganj area, Nagpur on Thursday morning.
“Six saw mills gutted in fire so far,” said chief fire officer Rajendra Uchake.
The Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s fire and emergency services sent as many as five fire tenders from four fire stations in the city to bring the fire under control.
At around 8.20am, the fire control room received a call regarding a fire that broke out in the premises of a sawmill situated near Harihar temple on Old Bhandara road.
Gauging the magnitude of the fire at the saw mill — as there are hundreds of timber marts spread — the department pressed nine fire tenders from various fire stations in the city, and declared the fire as a ‘major call’, alerting all fire stations in the city.
Firemen are struggling hard to douse the engulfing fire.
No casualties have been reported.
