Major fire breaks out in timber godown in Bhiwandi

THANE: A major fire broke out in a godown stocking timber products at Rahnal village in Bhiwandi in the wee hours of Tuesday.
No loss or injury to human life was reported in the incident.
“However, majority of timber stocked inside the premises is feared destroyed and an estimate of the losses was yet to be calculated,” said officials.
The call about the fire was received around 2am following which the fire brigade teams from Bhiwandi and Thane corporation areas went to the spot to douse the flames.
“The blaze was contained within the premises and doused by 6am,” said officials from Thane regional disaster management cell
“A detailed investigation in the incident will be undertaken soon,” said officials.
