Fast Action By Firemen Saves Eight Shops From Being Razed

TUMPAT, Jan 24 (Bernama) — Swift action by firemen saved a row of eight shops from being destroyed by fire in Pasir Pekan here today.
Chief of Tumpat Fire and Rescue Department, Assistant Superintendent Raja Arisan Raja Ismail said three fire engines from the Tumpat and Darul Naim stations, as well as volunteer firefighters rushed to the scene after receiving an emergency call at 6.05pm.
“Upon arrival at the scene, the fire was at its peak and the firemen took about 20 minutes to bring it under control,” he said when met at the scene here, today.
He said there was no report of a casualty and the Fire and Rescue department was investigating the cause of the fire and losses incurred.
