Delhi: 64-year-old kidney patient dies after fire breaks out at Brahm Shakti hospital in Rohini

NEW DELHI: A 64-year-old kidney patient, who was on a ventilator, died after a fire broke out at Brahm Shakti Hospital in Rohini on Sunday morning. Police said, oxygen support and electricity was disrupted due to blaze.
The deceased has been identified as Holi, who lived in Prem Nagar area.
According to the fire department, at around 5am, they received the call about the fire at the hospital in Puth Kalan (Rohini).
“The fire was on the third floor and nine fire tenders were sent to the spot,” Atul Garg, director, DFS said. At the spot, firefighters found out that the ICU of the hospital was affected by the blaze.
DCP (Rohini) Pranav Tayal said the fire, apparently caused due to a short circuit, broke out on the third floor which disrupted oxygen support and electricity. Several other patients were rescued.
A case under sections 285 (negligent conduct with respect to fire or combustible matter), 287 (negligent conduct with respect to machinery) and 304 A (causing death by negligence) of IPC.
