INDORE: Goods worth several lakhs of rupees were destroyed in a fire at a factory at Sanwer Road industrial area on Sunday morning.
Fire department officials said that the fire broke out at a foam factory of Mukesh Jaiswal at around 8am. Locals noticed the fire and informed the department. A team of officials and 50 personnel reached the spot with two fire tenders. “Around 8000 litre water was used to douse the flames and the fire was brought under control by 9.30am,” SP (fire) RS Nigwal said. He said that no casualty was reported. Raw material including rexine, foam, a compressor machine, iron pipes, furniture etc. worth several lakhs of rupees were destroyed.
In another incident, electronic equipment including computers, air-conditioners and furniture was destroyed in a fire that broke out at a computer store on the fifth floor of Princess Pride commercial building at Zanjeerwala Square, said officials. The fire was reported during wee hours on Sunday, and it was doused within half an hour, they said. Though the exact cause of the fire could not be ascertained, fire department officials suspected electrical short circuit to be the cause.
