Updated: 2022-06-22
NASHIK: The MSEDCL substation at Vavi in Sinnar taluka of the district was gutted in fire on Tuesday afternoon.
The substation providing power to Dusingwadi, Ujani and Pangri villages was gutted after the fire broke out following rains and short circuit in the office.
There was no loss of life reported in the case though most of the equipment and the goods in office were charred.
Two employees of the MSEDCL who were at the office tried to the extinguish the power at the electrical equipment but were unsuccessful even as they called for the fire brigade team from Sinnar municipal council.
The wires, fuses, old energy meters that belonged to consumers or that were replaced and the new meters that were yet to be installed, plastic equipment, papers, tables and chairs were reduced to ashes due to the fire.
The villagers also came to the help of the MSEDLC officials for extinguishing of the fire but that did not help much.
