Fire hits residential area in Parañaque, reaches 4th alarm; two hurt

A fire broke out before dawn on Monday in Parañaque City, resulting in two injuries and rendering 100 families homeless.
The incident affected at least 50 houses in Valley 6 in Barangay San Isidro, according to a report of Nico Waje on GMA News’ Unang Balita.
The fire started before 1 a.m. and reached the fourth alarm.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said firetrucks had difficulty reaching the area since the road was narrow, there was a construction, and the fire hydrant was located far away.
The houses were also clustered together and were made of light materials, the BFP added.
Residents joined hands in dousing the fire with water from a drainage system being constructed.
The fire incident occurred while most residents were sleeping. Some of them were not able to save any of their belongings.
Also affected in the fire was a bakery owned by a resident.
The BFP said damage to property is estimated to reach P600,000.
The fire was put under control at 2:22 a.m.
Affected residents were temporarily evacuated to a covered court in the barangay. —KG, GMA News
