Bus catches fire after hitting culvert, four passengers hurt

BHUBANESWAR: At least seven passengers of a bus they were travelling in sustained injuries after the vehicle collided with a culvert near Baramunda bus stand in Bhubaneswar on Monday. A major tragedy was averted as the bus caught fire minutes after the passengers were rescued from the bus.
“No casualty was reported. Around 15 passengers were travelling in the bus that was coming from Phulbani. A massive fire broke out in the bus after all the passengers were evacuated from the vehicle. All passengers are safe, though a few of them received injuries,” a senior police officer said.
Police said the cause of the accident and subsequent fire was being investigated.
