Fire at Powai supermarket; no one hurt

Mumbai: A fire erupted at a supermarket in Powai early on Thursday morning. Eight fire engines, five jumbo water tankers and an ambulance were rushed to the site along with civic and police officials.
Officials from the civic body said that while the fire erupted around 6.15 am, at Haiko supermarket, no one was trapped inside. Immediately efforts were made to douse the flames.
The fire was finally extinguished at 1.14 pm. No injuries or casualties were reported in the incident.
In June, a fire was doused in the cafeteria of a multiplex in Kapurbawdi, Thane. Four fire-fighters had to be hospitalised following complaints of asphyxiation.
