Fire breaks out at warehouse in Vizag, no casualties

VISAKHAPATNAM: A major fire broke out at a warehouse at Vadlapudi in Vizag city on Sunday. The fire resulted in thick smoke in the surrounding area.
The locals said that thick smoke emanated from a furniture and mattress warehouse on Sunday. The traders used to supply the furniture and mattresses to retail stores from the warehouse.
Two firefighting engines reached the spot to douse the flames. Fortunately, no casualties and injuries were reported in the incident. The property loss in the incident might have been in lakhs.
The reason behind the fire is not yet known. The officials suspect that a possible electrical short-circuit might be the reason for the fire. The police and fire service personnel registered a case and the investigation is on.
