JABALPUR: At least eight people were killed after a massive fire broke out at a private hospital in Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur.
The incident took place at around 3pm on Monday afternoon as fire broke out at New Life Multi-Speciality Hospital in Chandal Bhata area of the city.
“Eight casualties have been confirmed so far, condition of two others is critical. Injured were rushed to different hospitals of the city. As of now, there is no one trapped inside the hospital,” SP Siddharth Bahuguna told TOI.
Sources said that the exact number of people who are injured is not clear yet.
Among the eight deaths, 3-4 could be employees of the hospital, sources said.
Prima facie it is suspected that fire broke out through the generator kept at the hospital. District administration is constituting an enquiry committee for investigation.
