QC fire leaves 30 families homeless

MANILA, Philippines – Around 30 families were left homeless when a fire struck a residential area in Quezon City yesterday morning.
Arson investigators said the fire broke out near a junkshop along Litex Road in Barangay Commonwealth at 10:30 a.m.
They said the flames quickly spread since most of the houses in the area were made of light materials.
Gul Culin, one of the residents, suffered burns on his left eyebrow and left leg.
The fire reached the fourth alarm before it was put out at past 12 p.m.
The blaze destroyed at least 15 houses. Damage to property was estimated at P500,000.
