Gujarat: Fire breaks out at hotel in Jamnagar; 27 guests, hotel staff rescued

AHMEDABAD: A major fire broke out at a hotel of Jamnagar in Gujarat on Thursday evening.
The fire brigade and police rescued 27 guests of the hotel and there was no casualty.
According to the police, a fire broke out in hotel Alento near Sikka Patiya around 8.30pm.
K K Bishnoi, chief fire officer of Jamnagar municipal corporation (JMC) said, “It’s a six floor hotel and fire sparked in an electric metre. The chemical was stored in a nearby plot, because of that the fire spread rapidly.”
The fire fighters from four nearby industries, JMC, Khambhaliya municipality and Sikka Municipality reached to douse the fire.
Talking to TOI, Premsukh Delu superintendent of police, Jamnagar said “According to the hotel register there were 27 guests inside the hotel and all were rescued. There was no casualty and the entire staff of the hotel was also rescued. Three people who had complained of breathing were admitted to G G hospital.”
P S Zamsingh, district collector of Jamnagar said, “We are verifying every corner of the hospital to see if anybody is trapped. As per our record there is no casualty and no injury due to fire.”
As the news of the fire came the government run G G hospital had called it’s doctors and nursing staff and made an arrangement to deal with the situation in case a number of patients are brought.
