Fire breaks out in hostel, none hurt

Bokaro: Over 300 students escaped unhurt after a fire broke out in the store room of the hostel of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya in Giridih district on Wednesday.
It took more than two hours for the fire brigade to douse the fire. “Mattresses and books were stored inside the room. The hostel management immediately informed the fire services,” district education officer Neelam Toppo said. There were 350 girls in the hostel at the time of incident, but no one was hurt, she added. The cause of the fire is still unknown. The hostel will remain closed for two days, Toppo said.
