BAREILLY: Five people, including two minor children, died and two sustained critical burn injuries after a massive fire broke out at a three-storey building in Galshaheed area of UP’s Moradabad on Thursday evening.
Officials said it took over three hours to douse the blaze.
The fire tenders managed to rescue 12 people from the building and five of them were critically injured and unconscious.
They all were admitted to district hospital in Moradabad city where four were declared dead by doctors while one succumbed to injuries during treatment.

According to officials, the building owner had stored scrap material on the ground floor of the house, where the fire broke out due to unidentified reasons. Meanwhile, his family was living on three floors of the house.
DM Shailendra Singh said, “A joint family of three brothers lived in the house where the fire broke out. So far, five people including two minor children, died in the incident while seven have survived. Fire fighters are trying to identify the reason behind the incident.”
