Navi Mumbai: Taloja pharma company gutted in fire

NAVI MUMBAI: A major fire broke out at Modi-Chemi Pharma company located in Taloja MIDC in Navi Mumbai area on Thursday evening around 7pm.
Taloja fire brigade team rushed to the company with three fire engines and water tankers within 10 minutes of receiving the emergency fire call.
Taloja fire official informed that prima facie, the cause of fire seems to be due to short circuit. Fortunately, there was no casualty, as the company workers immediately exited the factory.
The company manufactures and exports bromide compounds. The huge quantity of chemical ingredients used for manufacturing process that was stocked at the factory became fodder for the fire to spread.
The raging fire has completed gutted the company, informed the fire officials. However, the incessant rains helped in extinguishing the fire to some extent, informed the fire officials.
