Updated: 2022-09-12
Dumka: At least nine makeshift shops along the foothill of the Trikuti hill under Mohanpur police station in Deoghar district were gutted in fire on Saturday night. Items worth Rs 50 lakh have been damaged in the fire, police said on Sunday. These shops sold toys, makeup accessories and other items. Short-circuit is said to be the cause of the fire, police said.
“Fire brigade rushed to the spot immediately but by then considerable damage was done,” said officer in-charge of Mohanpur police station, Prem Pradeep.
Block development officer of Mohanpur, Kaushal Kishore, also visited the spot to assess the damages. tnn
