Miraculous escape for Navi Mumbai students as school bus catches fire

NAVI MUMBAI: As many as four students of a school in CBD-Belapur had a narrow escape after the school bus, that they were about to board at a pickup point in Kharghar, suddenly caught fire on Monday morning. The school bus had a fire extinguisher cylinder, but it had expired, informed Kharghar fireman Kuldeep Tandel.
Fireman Tandel said, “We received the emergency fire call at 11. 35am informing that a school bus has caught fire on the road. Using fire engines, we doused the fire within five minutes and prevented the fire from spread to the entire bus. Prima facie, the school bus caught fire probably due to a short circuit in the front engine bonnet. ”
Sandeepan Shinde, senior police inspector of Kharghar said, “The four primary school students of People’s Education Society school in CBD-Belapur, escaped unhurt in the school bus fire incident as they had not boarded the bus. ”
