Updated: 2022-09-15
MUMBAI: An electrical installation, in a linen store at the basement of RN Cooper Hospital, caught fire at around 3.30pm.
Two fire engines and two tankers were sent to the spot.
The fire was doused in about 20 minutes. No casualties were reported.
Dr Shailesh Mohite, dean of RN Cooper Hospital said that the fire broke out in the linen room in the basement of the medical college building.
“We were quickly alerted by the smoke escaping from the window. It was doused promptly,” he said, adding that they didn’t have to move any patients since it was nowhere close to wards. The cause of the fire, he said, will be determined by the fire officials.
