PATNA: A major fire broke out in a hotel on Station Road at Imlichatti locality in Muzaffarpur district on Tuesday evening.
The fire officials said that three persons were rescued from the hotel and no causalities were reported.
The incident took place around 8.45pm at Sankar hotel under Brahmapura police station area.
SHO Anil Kumar Gupta said, “Three people were rescued by the fire department team. All were safe and no casualties were reported. It took several hours for the firefighters to completely douse the blaze”.
According to fire officers, the fire started in a garment shop on the ground floor of the G+3 hotel.
“Prima facie, it appears that short-circuit at the shop is believed to have sparked the blaze. Within minutes, the other floors of the hotel also caught fire. One person was trapped on the second floor, while another was in a washroom and a third man was stuck in his bedroom,” fire constable Praveen Kumar told TOI.
Three fire tenders were pressed into service to put out the blaze.
Kumar said one person sustained a head injury in this incident while the others were safe.
“All the rescued people have been taken to the hospital,” he said.
