Ranchi Airtel warehouse fire razes equipment worth crores

RANCHI: Equipment worth crores of rupees were destroyed in a massive fire that broke out in an Airtel warehouse in Bargawa under the Namkum police station area on Thursday morning.
On noticing smoke billowing out of the warehouse in the wee hours, its guards informed the authorities concerned about the incident. Ten fire tenders reached the spot around 5 am and tried to douse the flames till the evening. Firefighters brought water from a local school and the Doranda fire station.
Doranda fire station in-charge Jitendra Tiwari said, “The entire structure of the warehouse has been razed. Poor electrical wiring of the facility, where various equipment to be supplied across the state were stored, might have led to a short circuit, causing the fire.”
