Cook Burnt To Death In Car Crash

JOHOR BAHARU, March 31 (Bernama) – A cook was burnt to death after his Proton Wira caught fire after a Toyota Vios came crashing from the opposite side in Jalan Permas Barat, here Sunday night.
Johor Bahru Selatan police chief ACP Sulaiman Salleh said Liew Wei Liang was traveling from Pasir Gudang to city centre at 9.30 pm when his Wira collided head-on with the Vios.
“Liew’s charred remains were sent to Sultan Ismail Hospital,” he told reporters after the Police Cadet Corps 44th anniversary celebration, here Monday.
The 43 year-old woman driver of the Vios suffered a fractured hip and was treated at Regency Specialist Hospital, Pasir Gudang.
The case was investigated under Section 41(1) of Road Transport Act 1987.
Meanwhile, a young man aged between 17 and 19 years was found dead by the public in a ditch in Jalan Songket 4, Taman Sentosa, early yesterday.
“The man who worked as a blacksmith was believed to have been hit with a blunt object before falling into the ditch.”
Sulaiman said the body was sent to Sultanah Aminah Hospital for autopsy.
The case was investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
