Big explosion rocks fire crackers manufacturing unit in Andhra Pradesh village, 3 killed

RAJAHMUNDRY: A tiny village of Kadiyadha which is eight kilometers away from Tadepalligudem town was startled on Thursday night as the big explosion rocked the village. Three persons were killed in the incident. The Impact of the explosion spread over a 15 kilometers radius and tremors were felt in the surrounding village.
At about 8 pm, an explosion took place in a fire crackers manufacturing unit situated at Rajanna Cheruvu in the outskirts of Kadiyadha village. Three persons were killed in the fire accident. The owner of the manufacturing unit, Panduri Annavaram was manufacturing fire crackers much more than he obtained permission.
Yalla Prasad, Dulla Nani and Deyyala Swamy belong to J Kothuru in Jaggampeta mandal in Kakinada district and Arepalli Salmon Raju belongs to Ananthapalli village in Nallajarla mandal in East Godavari were working in the fire crackers manufacturing unit when the explosion took place. Dulla Nani and Deyyala Swamy were killed on the spot and their body parts fell 300 meters away.
Yalla Prasad and Salmon Raju were seriously injured and Yalla Prasad died on the way to hospital. Salmon Raju who received severe burn injuries is getting treatment in Rajahmundry Government General Hospital.
Talking to the TOI, District Fire Officer B Srinivas said that Forensic experts have visited the site and took samples. He mentioned that rockets (Firework) were being manufactured in the unit and ingredients like Potassium and Phosphorus are being used. He said that they are permitted to manufacture 15 kilograms of powder at a time.
Meanwhile, chief minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy announced ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh for each of the deceased families. West Godavari collector Mrs P Prasanthi said that comprehensive inquiry would be conducted on the incidents and the responsible persons would be sternly punished.
