Fire breaks out at godown in Ludhiana

LUDHIANA: A major fire was reported in a godown of hosiery waste in Mayapuri area in Ludhiana on Tuesday morning.
The fire officials were on toes as entire area was covered with thick blanket of smoke which was quite visible from far away. The hosiery waste was kept in the godown in huge quantity due to which it was getting difficult to control the incident.
Meanwhile, panic gripped the area as entire area is full of this hosiery waste.
The fire officials claimed that fire had spread all around and at the entrance there were flames so they were struggling to make way to enter the godown. They claimed it will take a long time to control incident. They also feared the sheds may collapse due to intense heat.
Meanwhile the onlookers were gathered around the incident and the cops were having a tough time in controlling people. They were asking people to stay away as adjoining building had also developed the cracks and it may also collapse.
